Built in XVI century on the project of Giulio Romano and financed by the count de Mola Simone Vaaz, financer of Portuguese origin and president of the "Regia Camera della Sommaria" being equivalent to the Court of Auditors.
Rebuilt in XVIII century by Carlo Vanvitelli on the drawings of Luigi Vanvitelli.
In the past this residence contained a circular show being able to accomodate 1000 people as well as a theatre of 1600 places.
It was sold in 1772 by the duke Perrelli di Monasterace has Giovan Domenico Berio di Salza.
